You are invited to attend a San Rafael City Schools Community Budget Forum for the High School District on Monday, February 6th, 6:00- 7:30 PM in the San Rafael High School Library, located at 185 Mission Avenue in San Rafael.

Information about the Governor's State Budget proposal and its potential impact on the San Rafael City Schools High School District budget will be discussed. For more information, please contact the Business Office at 415-492-3205.

Due to burglaries in Marinwood and Terra Linda, the Las Gallinas Lions Club has started a Neighborhood Watch Program. Our 2nd. community meeting for this watch program will be Wednesday, Feb. 15th at 7:30pm at the Marinwood Community Center. The Neighborhood Watch Program will cover Marinwood and Terra Linda. Refreshments will be served and we will distribute more Neighborhood Watch window stickers for your houses. We will discuss our Neighborhood Watch Program and start our Block Captains campaign.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING - COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) - COUNTYWIDE PRIORITY SETTING COMMITTEE.  The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Countywide Priority Setting Committee will hold a public meeting, at which public comment will be welcome, on Thursday, February 16, 2012, 7:00 p.m., Council Chambers, San Rafael City Hall, 1400 Fifth Avenue, San Rafael, California, The agenda will include:  1.  Expansion of the Priority Setting Committee and its subcommittees to add representatives of racial and ethnic minorities and people with disabilities, and 2. Policies to adjust to a 19% funding cut in the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program and a 46% funding cut in the HOME Program.

The reason for expanding the committee is to bring greater diversity to the group that:

  1. Advises the Board of Supervisors on the Community Development Block Grant and HOME Program funding allocation process, and
  1. Provides input on the County's implementation of the Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice.  

 

 

WATERSHED PLANNING MEETING with Liz Lewis and GWC on Wednesday Feb. 29 from 7-9 pm at the Korean Presbyterian Church in Santa Venetia. Liz is Marin County's principal planner for the county's watershed programs. She has prepared a Draft proposal for our area and can answer many of the questions raised by residents over the years.  Liz is knowledgeable about dredging, flooding, sea level rise, & creek restoration.
